I've tried googling and looking around and oddly enough - all the tutorial videos I find are for Logic 9. For example, the Smart Control for a synthesizer might include screen controls for choosing the waveform and adjusting the resonance and filter cutoff, while one for a string instrument might include controls for changing the articulation. When you play back all four tracks later after recording and you come out of live mode. One key concept to grasp as this point, though, is that the samples can be imported using a series of different modes — Additive, Spectral, Granular and Sampler. Vibrato is a common example of modulation.
Move out of the Global view to see the individual controls for the Source. Doing so will earn you an indefinite ban. I still wish I could load all the 8dio patches into the Logic library column instead of individually changing the input for each instrument. Its super confusing at first. Smart Controls can control both channel strip and plug-in parameters, including software instruments on software instrument tracks and effects on audio, software instrument, and Drummer tracks.
Support requests are fine, but the scope of the subreddit is everything relevant to Logic Pro and its related software. Also a very powerful processor. I use Steven Slate Drums, Ocean Way Drums a combination of both , some Logic Virtual instruments just sometimes and real audio files recorded guitars, bass, voice, etc. So it's not so much a matter of how many, but. This is just my personal opinion.
The quad i7 is an absolute workhorse and will handle anything you can throw at it. Ian Hi Ian, you must create an instrument track and load Kontakt 5. Looks like I need to stick these in Bidule if I want to record them simultaneously, unless there's a workaround. The sampled stuff will be in Kontakt 5, the rest are mostly synthesisers. Hello, I would like to put out a question regarding spiking of the Kontakt Instrument - Disk Usage Monitor - within Logic Pro X 10. But I think I'm all set now.
I will certainly invest in Kontakt 5 and start acquiring sample Libraries - it looks like great stuff! But as soon as we add in Kontakt, it's implied that you'll be loading some pretty hefty libraries. By repeating these grains, a sound can effectively become frozen in time, or you could slowly move through the grains to produce a wavetable-like sound. Maybe I'm just getting old But that's where I'm at - no sign of Kontakt 4 in Logic. Out of curiosity, was it the last core that loaded up according to Logic's meter? The Compare button allows you to compare your edited settings with the saved settings so you can edit as much as you want but always get back to your starting point. Logic Pro X is no exception. Rotate the Release knob to adjust how fast or slow the synth reacts to the end of the input signal.
With Logic Pro X, you get a whole bunch of instruments that could easily replace every synth and keyboard you own. Adjust the Mix slider to set the mix between the two oscillators. Rotate the Volume knob to adjust the overall volume. The mapped samples could be a series of one-shot, velocity-switched drum samples, for example, or a collection of multi-sampled pad sounds spread across the full range of the keyboard. Screen controls are labeled to help you understand which aspect of the sound each one affects.
In fact I don't think I've ever needed to even use the Purge functionality. You can tune the instrument, set the number of voices, adjust the portamento speed, and more. Best, Sam Hi Sam, That video helped a lot. Until next time…now go make some music. You can also use the key command Option+Command+N. Note the series of Zones one for each drum sample positioned consecutively from C1 on the keyboard. Therefore if you record multiple tracks at the same time in Live mode, all instruments and fx on those tracks will use just one core.
For example - I have an instance of kontakt on a track - it has loaded Spitfire Audio Albion 1 - there are some 24 bars of long string sustains - really nothing too taxing. If you're not into gaming, cutting or some other gpu heavy tasks a lot, the 460 may be nice, but not neccessary. The planar pad parameters are chosen in the modulation router or vector envelope. Use Import to load 808 samples as before, although this time select Granular for the Analysis mode and Drum for the Mapping option. You can even use untagged loops from other sources and they will automatically play at your project tempo. Because of the routing, these effects are solely applied to the snare. Rotate the Resonance knob to boost or cut the frequencies around the cutoff frequency.
Hi David, Thanks for the speedy response. Click the numbered buttons to choose the octave. You could also try creatively adjusting the envelope. Click on any subtrack and Add an instance of Kontakt by clicking on the Instrument slot. I apologize for my ignorance, but this is all very new to me and after searching YouTube for hours, I still have not found any videos explaining the basics of either Kontakt or Logic Pro. Getting the hang of setting oscillator waveforms, filters, envelopes, and modulators will help you take command of the synths and design your own sounds. When it comes to sound design, though, it starts to show its age.
You'll especially notice this if you're putting multiple samples layered in Kontakt per track which of course isn't a good idea if you're looking for a good mix, but you might find yourself in that situation. It's very easy to navigate your instruments in the Kontakt 5 plugin using the Libraries tab should open by default. Overall, I don't think it's your best option. Until next time…now go make some music. Click the Out Level to adjust the overall volume. I advise going to the final v4 release, which was 4.
